Why fitness?
Being, looking, and feeling fit and healthy is a self-evident part of a good life.
Beyond the obvious reasons of wanting to look good, be strong, feel happy, and live longer, there are many further reasons you might not be aware of.
Strength training, in particular, develops your muscles and leads to a leaner and more toned physique. More muscle mass improves your metabolism, so you can eat more and have it easier to manage your body fat.
It enhances your bone health, prevents osteoporosis, increases your balance, and reduces injury risks, which becomes more critical as you age.
A more muscular body also has better posture through a strengthened core and stabilizing muscles.
Sometimes everyday actions like getting up from the sofa might feel difficult; this is because you are weak and lack functional strength.
They will feel substantially lighter when you are strong.
Especially when you are a highly analytical or “head-heavy” person, being grounded in the physicality of your own embodiment can get you more closely connected to reality. Nassim Taleb might argue further to “deadlift against platonicity” and “confront the living system of your body with some disorder to get gains”: Strength training as an embodied approach to epistemology.
In general, many physical everyday tasks will change how they feel, and this can generalize to a more agentic being in the world overall. Many experience more confidence and self-esteem through strength training and an improved body image.
Strength training is linked to increased longevity and a better quality of life as you age, maintaining independence and vitality.
Strength training and fitness enhance your mental health by releasing endorphins, improving mood directly, reducing metabolic effects of stress, and reducing anxiety and depression.

Coaching and Fitness Philosophy: The Wu Wei of Strength Training
Being motivated to become fit is not enough.
Antoine de Saint-Exupery, author of The Little Prince, said: If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea. But it turns out that many yearn for the vast and endless sea and still fail to build the ship. And many fail so often that they tell themselves the vast and endless sea is unattainable for them. In most cases, this isn’t true.
Fitness coaching is especially relevant, as no industry comes with such an endless jungle of false advertisements and claims, making evidence-based expertise and praxis more critical than ever. I know this, because I struggled for years before I found the straight and narrow path that works.
My philosophy of fitness has its most decisive influence in the concept of Wu wei, an ancient Chinese concept from Confucianism and Daoism, meaning “effortless action”. The more you actually understand, the easier it becomes to discern between actions that get you results and those that don’t. This means you can stop doing all the useless parts. Of course, many fail in their fitness goals for not adhering to the main principles at all. You will need to lift heavily and regularly, eat within your budget, and move your body overall. But you won’t believe how many fail their goals for overtraining or undereating. Doing too much can backfire in similar ways as doing too little; your muscles grow on your rest days! I’d be pleased to help you develop your wu wei of fitness, teaching you so much that you reach your goals with as little effort as needed, as one robust fiber that is naturally woven into your life's complex, colorful fabric.
This being said, I specialize in lifestyle fitness coaching. This means my ideal client is either at the start of their fitness development or has experience but hasn’t gotten the results they have intended yet. I can teach you the basics and correct and optimize the systems you already have to get more results. Neither have I done competitions myself nor can I get you on stage, simply because fitness as one part of an otherwise rich life is my own preference.

Credentials
I am a certified Bayesian Bodybuilding (now Menno Henselmans) personal trainer, one of the most evidence-based programs on the market, and have rich autodidactic knowledge beyond this.
Additionally, I have conducted research in behavior change interventions at the University of Vienna and the Institute of AI and Decision Support. I have a degree in psychology, which comes with an understanding of neuroscience.
I have also marinated for years of my own training history in the atmosphere and information ecology of “DAS GYM” or “Intelligent Strength” in Vienna, a palace of hypertrophy that proudly proclaims its “No Bullshit” approach to fitness: Do what works and do it in order of priority. No, we won’t discuss your supplements in detail if you haven’t yet built a consistent gym routine and aren’t yet eating enough protein.
